Rabbit School has been working for over 25 years for children with intellectual disabilities in Cambodia. We promote the rights of children with intellectual disabilities because we believe they have the same fundamental rights as their fellow citizens to a decent life, equal dignity, and access to education, regardless of the origin, nature, or severity of their disabilities.
With our 62 specialized teachers, we use an individualized program that meets the unique needs of each student. By employing various educational and therapeutic methods, we strive to develop an inclusive vision of education. Our goal is to integrate children with intellectual disabilities into mainstream classes whenever possible, while also promoting shared spaces and activities.
Where all children can learn and grow for equal opportunities
We are committed to supporting our children until they reach adulthood and independence. At the age of 16, they have the opportunity to participate in our vocational training program, which combines the teaching of both soft and technical skills, as well as internships and job placement assistance.
In addition to our comprehensive education program, we also support 2,800 out-of-school children in the four provinces where our schools are located. Among them, 1,237 students received scholarships in 2022, including 589 girls. Moreover, we provided livelihood support to 80 families, recognizing the importance of holistic well-being and sustainable livelihoods for our community.
Towards a certain future
Rabbit School actively collaborates with various educational stakeholders, including 213 primary school teachers, 108 school principals, district school officials, and private businesses.
Together, we strive to create a society where children with intellectual disabilities are empowered and given the opportunities they deserve. At Rabbit School, we are committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of these children and fostering a more inclusive future for all.
